Tabletops to Devour

Annapolis Home invited an interior designer and a local artists’ collective to create table settings for the holidays. Take a look for inspiration and ideas to brighten your own table.

This tabletop is a collaborative endeavor by The Creatives at the Annapolis Artisans Market. Using a mix of materials they had on hand, including the table itself, linens, vintage silver, and crystal, the team “painted” with gold accents and accessories. Their tablescape, accented by simple long-stemmed roses and lilies, exudes a golden glow and a sparkly, festive air, perfect for New Year’s Eve or a celebratory dinner.

The Annapolis Artisans Market houses twelve artists who sell unique furnishings, art, and home décor. You can visit them at 1818 Margaret Avenue in Annapolis. If you plan to shop, stay tuned to save on Small Business Saturday, November 30, and for their Holiday Show December 7-8.

Interior designer Valerie Wheeler chose dramatic black matte and brass plate ware, Steif silverware, and the fruits of the season to create an elegant, earthy design. Real pears and crimson ribbon are used inventively to display name tags. An arrangement by Le Fleur Farms composed of fresh eucalyptus, anemones, and dahlias centers the gauze runner. Nature abounds as the richer, darker tones from the centerpiece carry into the olive branch garland that runs the length of the table. Dried oranges and freshly cut pomegranates are tucked throughout, adding abundant color and a dusky beauty.

Pro-Tip
To enhance the natural beauty of the pomegranate, cut fruit in half and soak in cold water for 20 minutes. This makes it easier to peel back the waxy inner layer, exposing the beautiful pomegranate seeds.
